I Am Thou

It had been some time since Yua's adventure into the First, now with the land trying to find a way to rebuild after the return of the night sky. Perhaps it was because of it, she has a new appreciation of the beauty of the stars, the color of the skies when the light vanishes for the time. And Yua has been wandering more around Eorzea during the night taking in the sights.

It's when she is around Mor Dhona that during one of her trips, there is something that catches her eye: a very large tentacled creature slithering around like a serpent with a gaping jaw.

"That's odd, I haven't heard of a Hunt Mark like that one-" She stops in mid sentence because the voidsent doesn't even bother to take notice of her but rather a figure lying on the ground. She can't tell who it is from where she is standing but that does not mean the viera woman will simply stand there. Unhooking her chakrams from her belt, she dashes forward and throws them at the monster's eyes.

"Hey Ugly! Over here!"

Yua couldn't think of a snappier comeback, there's more important things like making sure that guy who is lying there doesn't get hurt.

"Who on earth would even be out here around something like this?"

"...you're suddenly interested in my non existent love life. What gives?"

He shrugs. "Boredom?"

And trying to get her back for the unsettling conversation earlier.

"Not much to talk about on it, I'm afraid. Still a virgin so what's the point?" And the split second that tidbit went tumbling out, Yua covers her mouth and swears.

The light blushing just got upgraded to a darker shade and she just admitted that to her enemy. Fuck.

Emet-Selch blinks, surprised, before chuckling at Yua's little confession.

"All the more reason I'd say, dear hero," he teases. "Assuming you've any interest, but given you're reaction..."

"Because I just admitted that to the last person I thought I would say it to!"

Yua is grateful her mind isn't yelling anything else at the moment such as why she was constantly staying within lakes back on the First. Using her personas must have taken a lot out of her because she's saying things that she would not normally tell anyone other than Rhel.

"Exhaustion does that to a person," he agrees. "Then again, if apparently your last suitor was yourself only male I can see why you might decide against it."

"That whole debacle makes my head hurt." Yua is on the edge of facepalming because she did not imagine this kind of conversation happening.

"And do we really need to continue?" Seriously, if this keeps up, she's going to get ideas and she rather not have a dream involving it.

[angeloftruth]

"Not if you can provide a better conversation topic, no."

[vieraofinaba]

"Knowing you, it'll just come back to this." Yua groans and flops back down on the bed.

"There's not much to talk about if I'm honest. If you're wondering if I get crushes and other matters, I do but it's not like I act on them. See the 'saving the worlds and being everyone's fetch woman' reason that if I'm honest...wouldn't feel right."

And now asking something that she might regret but they're going down this rabbit hole might as well.

"What about you?"

Emet sighs, waving a hand in Yua's general direction. "And that is why it's so easy to cause chaos. You heroes never relax and you just...snap."

But then she has to turn it around to him. "What, are you asking if I've ever had romantic feelings for a mortal?" he asks with a scoff.

"Can you blame us?"

Being a hero is tough. Not like she can just drop everything when stuff needs to be done.

"Yes, I am asking that."

[angeloftruth]

"I did mention having children, didn't I?"

[vieraofinaba]

"So you have been in love then?"

[angeloftruth]

"Enough to sire children." And before, but she didn't ask about that and he won't offer that information.

"What were they like?" Yua didn't even think about during the time of Amaurot when she asked. It feels like a trigger and sure she has questions and possible theories but she's terrified that they're correct.

"Surely they meant a lot to you if they caught your attention."

[angeloftruth]

Emet shrugs, not really wanting to think about his past loves. He might say something he regrets.

"Intelligent. Good looking for the most part. Resilient."

"Sounds like the type you'd go for." It's said with a genuine smile.

[angeloftruth]

"They were the most tolerable sort of mortals. The others tended to be too easily overwhelmed."

[vieraofinaba]

"Can't blame them considering who you are without knowing your ascian part." Yua shrugs and leans into her pillow.

"Seems like even you has a heart under all that darkness."

[angeloftruth]

"Didn't I establish that back on the First?"

[vieraofinaba]

"Yes but it was rather hard with all the backseat commentary by the other Scions."

To be fair, Yua added on Thancred's ivory standard line with 'Pretty sure that's a kink for him' back then. No regrets.

"I mean, better than the last ones I interacted with. You actually taught me things."

[angeloftruth]

Emet snorts. "Lahabrea was half-mad with grief and loneliness, Igeyhorm was a snob, and Elidibus is vague as ever. You haven't interacted with the best of us."

So that would explain why Lahabrea took over Thancred's body years ago; birds of a feather it seems.

Now it's Yua's turn to scoff. "Oh come on, don't put yourself down like that."

A Look.

"You know what I meant."

"Do I now?"

He can tell she's being cheeky because she knows.
