I Am Thou

It had been some time since Yua's adventure into the First, now with the land trying to find a way to rebuild after the return of the night sky. Perhaps it was because of it, she has a new appreciation of the beauty of the stars, the color of the skies when the light vanishes for the time. And Yua has been wandering more around Eorzea during the night taking in the sights.

It's when she is around Mor Dhona that during one of her trips, there is something that catches her eye: a very large tentacled creature slithering around like a serpent with a gaping jaw.

"That's odd, I haven't heard of a Hunt Mark like that one-" She stops in mid sentence because the voidsent doesn't even bother to take notice of her but rather a figure lying on the ground. She can't tell who it is from where she is standing but that does not mean the viera woman will simply stand there. Unhooking her chakrams from her belt, she dashes forward and throws them at the monster's eyes.

"Hey Ugly! Over here!"

Yua couldn't think of a snappier comeback, there's more important things like making sure that guy who is lying there doesn't get hurt.

"Who on earth would even be out here around something like this?"

"Aside from that, yes." But Rhel smirks at Yua's comment, and the two of them smirking is never a good thing. "It is! Have the crowds started yet?"

"Oh yes," Yua nods. "It's the usual pre-Moonfire Faire get togethers but once that starts, I am expecting the beach to have non stop celebrations. I wonder what will be planned for this year..."

Not counting the...time where she had to hold in the urge to punt the pervy lalafell owner of Costa del Sol into the sea.

"Meaning bonfires, booze, and more sex than a brothel?"

"Exactly."

So the question remains: how much regret is Emet-Selch having about all of this?

So much, and he didn't even make this decision in the first place.

"Well, I'll have Urianger and Krile gather up what we need and we'll go Ascian-proof your house, then!" Rhel smiles, tail twitching in delight. "You're not possessed, so I've no idea how what happened happened, and you're still not allowed to leave your bed on pain of Tataru crying."

"Don't remind me. I can't stand seeing the poor woman crying; it feels like a punch to the gut." Yua sadly recalls all the times where Tataru did tear up and it makes her sad to think about it.

But she perks again and gives her friend a smile. "I appreciate everything you're doing for me, Rhel. I can't say it enough times."

"Of course, Yua. Call me should something go horribly wrong." And with that, she leaves.

Emet-Selch glances between Yua and the door. "Do you realize how unsettling the two of you are? Hm?"

"Sounds like we did our job well." Yua shrugs and stretches her arms out, grinning all the while.

"But honestly, I am looking forward to the Moonfire Faire. It's been awhile since I had a breather."

"It sounds like a debauched mess." He gives Yua a Look. "Is that the sort of person you are?"

"It all depends on where you look. Personally I don't go seeking it out and am content with sitting on the beach watching fireworks go off." Yua shrugs. "Despite my foul mouth and jokes, I...don't do things like that."

She can feel her cheeks go a little red at the thought and her own admission.

Aw, how precious. The Warrior is shy.

"All talk, are you?" He tsks. "How typical of Her chosen."

[vieraofinaba]

That earns an eye roll. "Oh yes, because I have all the time for that after saving two worlds and helping everyone else under the sun."

[angeloftruth]

"If an emperor can have time for lovers, surely a Warrior of Light can. Or is it Darkness now?"

[vieraofinaba]

"More like Warrior of Balance but it doesn't sound right. Besides, I think someone dating me might be more trouble than they want."

[angeloftruth]

Emet scoffs. "Please, there are plenty of hero-chasers on the Source. You'd find someone."

"...you're suddenly interested in my non existent love life. What gives?"

[angeloftruth]

He shrugs. "Boredom?"

And trying to get her back for the unsettling conversation earlier.

"Not much to talk about on it, I'm afraid. Still a virgin so what's the point?" And the split second that tidbit went tumbling out, Yua covers her mouth and swears.

The light blushing just got upgraded to a darker shade and she just admitted that to her enemy. Fuck.

Emet-Selch blinks, surprised, before chuckling at Yua's little confession.

"All the more reason I'd say, dear hero," he teases. "Assuming you've any interest, but given you're reaction..."

"Because I just admitted that to the last person I thought I would say it to!"

Yua is grateful her mind isn't yelling anything else at the moment such as why she was constantly staying within lakes back on the First. Using her personas must have taken a lot out of her because she's saying things that she would not normally tell anyone other than Rhel.

"Exhaustion does that to a person," he agrees. "Then again, if apparently your last suitor was yourself only male I can see why you might decide against it."

[vieraofinaba]

"That whole debacle makes my head hurt." Yua is on the edge of facepalming because she did not imagine this kind of conversation happening.

"And do we really need to continue?" Seriously, if this keeps up, she's going to get ideas and she rather not have a dream involving it.

[angeloftruth]

"Not if you can provide a better conversation topic, no."

[vieraofinaba]

"Knowing you, it'll just come back to this." Yua groans and flops back down on the bed.

"There's not much to talk about if I'm honest. If you're wondering if I get crushes and other matters, I do but it's not like I act on them. See the 'saving the worlds and being everyone's fetch woman' reason that if I'm honest...wouldn't feel right."

And now asking something that she might regret but they're going down this rabbit hole might as well.

"What about you?"

Emet sighs, waving a hand in Yua's general direction. "And that is why it's so easy to cause chaos. You heroes never relax and you just...snap."

But then she has to turn it around to him. "What, are you asking if I've ever had romantic feelings for a mortal?" he asks with a scoff.
